Are You Financially Fit? Take This Simple Quiz

Do you know if you’re financially fit or not?  Most of us have no clue.  Take this quick 10 question quiz to see where you stand and what to do if you want to get fit.

Financially Fit Quiz:

For every “Yes” give yourself 1 point.  For every “No” give yourself 0 points.

1 Do you make $150,000 or more? Yes No
2 Do you keep to a budget? Yes No
3 Can you pay off your credit card bills at the end of the month? Yes No
4 Are you maximizing your 401k contributions? Yes No
5 Is your credit score above 750? Yes No
6 Do you have 2 months of expenses in savings? Yes No
7 Do you have a lot of high achieving friends? Yes No
8 Do you use exotic financial terms at social gatherings? Yes No
9 Are you a man at least 6 feet tall? Yes No
10 Do you have fresh breath? Yes No

See?  It was only a tad harder than the SATs.

Your Financially Fit Quiz Results:

Let’s tally up the points.  If you scored:

  • 8-10: All Star — You’re so financially fit that you’re the best player on your team.
  • 5-7: Starter — You’re pretty fit and get the job done.  You have the potential to be an all-star with a few small changes.
  • 0-4: Bench Player — Many of the best players ever were once bench players.  Keep working, and one day you’ll make the starting line up.

How did you score?

No matter how you scored, everyone could get fitter.  The best athletes in the world hire personal trainers to continue getting better.  Even all-stars are working to be superstars.  Even superstars are working to be champions and hall-of-famers.

But, there’s actually one thing about financial fitness that most of us get wrong.

The #1 Mistake We Make About Being Financially Fit:

The biggest mistake we make about financial fitness is that we think it’s all about the budget.  Look, I can make you the best budget in the world, but unless you have the systems in place to help you keep to it, it might as well be crumpled into a ball and thrown into the trash.

Worse yet, when we do make a budget, we focus on the wrong things.  So it’s not as effective as it should be.

It there a better way?

Introducing the JMC Boot Camp:

In the JMC Boot Camp, let me show you how to:

  • Budget Like a Millionaire:  Not only make a better budget, but what you need to actually keep to it and reach your money goals.

  • Help You Reach Early Retirement:  Get the exact tool I created for myself and used to financially retire in my 30s.

These are things I’ve previously not shared on this site before because I wanted to make sure I could pace it in a way that could build on each other.  Otherwise, you’re going to be trying to get tips from dozens of sources that confuse and overwhelm you so much that you don’t know where to start.

Answering the questions the way they were asked, I scored 1:10 on the ‘financially fit quiz – it was the credit score.

JT, do you accept senior citizens into JMCU, will it be of any use having one ‘join in’ & do you ‘believe’ that a senior can learn anything (can an old dog be taught new tricks)?

I’m always up for learning something new, yet at age 70, retired, I don’t know if I’m too old or qualified to “get in” to this JMCU – is there a cut-off age?

I believe anyone at any age can learn at least one new thing each & every day.

You’re never too old to learn! At the very least, you’ll get a chuckle. I try to make it simple and funny!
